Some Frequently asked questions about Aricent and replies by an Aricent employee.

1. Why the late joining dates

The joining dates are allocated in such a way to ensure that everyone gets proper training ( 2 months for circuit branches and 3 months for non circuit branches at the Aricent training school called Nalanda) . Now I’m sure most of us would agree that if there are huge numbers to be joining all cannot join at the same time as training happens in batches. Once a person joins the organization we do not see a lot of sense in making people wait for training or allocation. Hence the joining are done in batches to ensure that everyone gets quality training and can be put into projects after that.

I can understand that it is frustrating waiting to join but believe me friends; you are in a much better position compared to many of your peers who've joined a run of the mill IT Company where they first join and then wait :-)

3. DATE of Joining

As of now all date of joining have been sent across to all the campus as well as off campus joiners. However for off campus joiners the joining locations shall be shared soon.

In case any one of you have any issues in terms of not receiving the mails the main reason normally is of an incorrect email ID given during the time of the interview. In case of such an issue write to the following ID

1. joinings@ aricent.com for the candidates selected directly from campuses

2. joinings200X@ aricent.com for the candidates selected from off campus drives.

4. What are we supposed to do in the gap?

Option 1 - Learn a foreign language

Option 2 - Join a hobby class

Option 3 - Chill out :- )

Just joking guys, but believe me once you start working you'll actually look forward to such kind of free time. So make the most out of it. Do something you've always wanted to join but could not do during the course of your curriculum.

In terms of what one needs to learn before joining Aricent, a good command on one programming language (C/ C++), OS &DS, SW Engineering would be of great help. As all the projects at Aricent are niche telecom projects brushing up basic telecom concepts would be of help. None of this is compulsory as during the course of your training you'll be taught everything necessary about your job , however a little additional knowledge does not harm anyone :-)

5. How is the Bangalore location and what kind of work is being done there?

The Bangalore location is the greenest Aricent centre... with a lush green huge campus located at a place called the Outer Ring Road. In terms of the projects done there I cannot comment on a public forum. However most of the projects at Aricent would have people in multiple locations .So there would be no issue of getting low end projects at a particular location.

6. Accommodation during the training

During the course of the training program all the candidates who are outside the NCR location shall be provided with paid company guest house facility. The charges for the same have not been finalized for this year but to give all of you a hang it was in the range of Rs. 7,500 -8,500 per month for the last year. In order to avail of the guest house facilities one must write back to the joining ID in advance.

7. Work Location Allocation

Work locations once allocated are finalized are never altered. All of you would have been asked your choice of location during the interview. Allocations are done as per the same. Only in rare cases for business reasons the locations might be changed. However to ensure parity all efforts are made to ensure that people are allocated the location that they had opted for during the interviews. Most of you would be experiencing the same i.e. you would be allocated the locations of your choice. But post interview no locations changes are done.
