Since inception, IBM in India has expanded its operations considerably with regional headquarters in Bangalore and offices in 14 cities including regional offices in New Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata and Chennai. Today, the company has established itself as one of the leaders in the Indian Information Technology (IT) Industry. IBM is one of the least paying companies in the Indian market these days … well ..about work culture .. IBM is second in world as far as ppl management is concerned .. but that not for IGSI India .. But still its good in India too. Another thing .. there is very little chances u will find some real development work (which is so called cream in industry) going in IBM .. except for in ISL(IBM software labs) .. most of the work ppl are working on is either maintenance or support ..

Comments: For IBM ( in general, I am saying specific team which is exception) Brand value, Career growth and onsite opportunities? earlier has had but now its degrading. but for IBM labs brand value is more How is work environment and how efficient is the communication b/w teams or department? Due to huge crowd , Politics in Team is obvious, ( you have to make yourself close to supervisor to get better increment and promotion. no work and huge crowd so no visibility among team. if anybody wants peaceful life , IBM is best place but don’t except increment Work pressure/Work – life balance. Very good. You don’t have to sit for late night unless you want to show your supervisor that you are very hard working. Satisfaction with salary and quality of work. Not at all. You spoil your expertise. What type of work they do: Product development, Services etc. Or if mix of these then what at percent? IGSI is doing services, IBM Labs doing prod development. Job security. Yes better Some positives and negatives of the company. already mentioned in point 2 Do you recommend your company to others? Yes or No and Why? I am not recommending. if has better jobs. it depends on what type of other jobs he has. Vital Statistics: Fresher salary: 2.75 for freshers from good colleges. 3 lakhs + 40K + Normal %age salary hikes: single digit. Bonus is very bad.

Comments: Career growth and onsite opportunities? Career Growth– doubtful.. most of the projects are support one and all of us know what we can learn out of it . . Onsite oppo… most of the onsite works are taken care by IBM of that country so there is really a dearth of onsite opp in IBM ..If u are lucky enough then u can get a chance after 2 yrs provided ur manager must be happy with u [not with ur work..i guess u got what i mean to say .] How is work environment and how efficient is the communication b/w teams or department? Work environment is kool — the best part in IBM rather only gud thing .. work pressure is ok types.. no one will force u to work so and so .. its just like a gov company dude .. regarding communication , i must say that .. conducting meeting with out any conclusion is a common practice out here .. If someone feels bore .. he/she will call a meeting .. Work pressure/Work – life balance. As i already mentioned .. work pressure is not much .. so life will be kool .. will get lots of time for family etc ……….. life rocks.. Satisfaction with salary and quality of work. IBM is famous for underpaying its employees and moreover increment is like 5-7% Work quality .. pathetic,,,, IBM is full of nuts .. in every projects 70% of the team members are nuts ,, they don’t know anything thus they are in IBM .. What type of work they do: Product development, Services etc. Or if mix of these then what at percent? Mix types .. 70-30 % Job security. secured .. these guys are crying for resources and u r taking about job sec.. u r fully secured here.. Do you recommend your company to others? Yes or No and Why? When you join IBM as a fresher, IBM pays more.. no technical choice ! When you become 2 yrs experienced, IBM pays less compared to others .. you become slightly technical ,gain name ,fame, confidence , brand name. When you become more experienced ,you feel you are lagging behind in the race.. you approach manager asking for more .. and he knows what to do for you .. so I would say ..as a fresher join IBM .. u r in the best place that time ..and after 2 yrs ,decide what u want

Its total employee strength all over the world is around 3.25 lakh if all divisions are included. In India IBM ISL is IBM Software Labs, and IBM AMS is Application Management Services. IBM ASM has offices in Bangalore, Hyderabad, Pune, Gurgaon, and Kolkata. This review is for IBM AMS.
Fresher Salary: Fresher Salary is 2.75 to 3.1 lakhs per annum for fresh engineers, depending on degree (B.Tech/M.Tech)/college. Salary growths in this company are not very good ones; it may be as low as 10% salary growth.
Career Growth/Onsite Assignments: IBM does believe in growth for an individual if he/she deserves it. Your skill set definitely counts and also the work that you put in. People move up the ladder if they posses the right kind of skills and attitude. It is a wonderful company to work for.
Onsite opportunities are surely less than that at TC, Infosys. But people do and stay at onsite locations.
Training: IBM gives training for things like SQL/ Unix depending on your requirement. It has vast repository of training resources where you can avail ON DEMAND TRAINING.
Work Environment: Some policies are good; if you are working in afternoon shift you will get compensated for that, its not like Infy where they will suck blood out of you.
Brand Value/Respect: IBM has a good brand value, almost everyone knows about this company, respect is more than it actually deserves.
Work Life Balance: Depending on project deadlines, or go alive of a module there may be some days of work pressure but overall its cool.
Job Security: IBM does fire employees if there is any false information shown in the resume.
Co-workers competence: Not at all good, some of the old employees also don’t know anything about technical things; I don’t understand how they were recruited.
Bond: IBM does not have any bond for employment.
Facilities: IBM has decent facilities for employees; the development centers are nice ones and have all the needed facilities.
