I have been in Infosys for 2 yrs now. My experiences is not so unique and would be story of most of those who joined Infy as fresher.
The Good things about company are:
1. Training : The 4 month (2 for CS graduates) is world class and at a separate campus at Mysore. The environment there is quite good and you will love the entire stay there.
2. Exposure : You will get an exposure to manage things quite early on and depending on how you perform, you can do wonders in brief time frame.
Bad Things:
1. Bench period. : Most of the freshers get to get long bench times. This usually happens when the resources are blocked for new Projects or DU(delivery units). Bench strength is vital to get new projects. But, this is a moral dampener for the freshers and company must find a way to mitigate that.
2. Real growth : Though your profile improves on your performance but your real growth (promotions and onsite) are heavily dependent on your experience levels and this usually causes heartburns... However, there is some room for maneuver and you can probably threaten the company to force ur growth, else growth is really difficult.
